Rob Callison was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. He attended Mesa College in Grand Junction; now called Colorado Mesa University; and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. 1980 was a pivotal year for Rob. In the spring of that year he joined the Navy and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. From 1980 until the end of 1985 he served as an active duty Surface Warfare Officer aboard two naval ships homeported out of San Diego. In 1986 he entered Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido, CA where he graduated in 1989 with a Master of Divinity.
In 1991 he was ordained in the South Coast Presbytery (PCA) as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. In January 1992 he entered active naval service once again, this time as a Navy chaplain. During the next 21 years he served in various capacities as a chaplain to units in both the Navy and Marine Corps. One notable highlight was the one year (2007) he served as the senior chaplain for the 2nd Marine Air Wing (Forward) in the Al Anbar Province in Iraq. He retired from the naval service in October 2012 and continues to look for ways to glorify the Lord by proclaiming the gospel.
